Difficulty:

This is a special weekend course designed as a comprehensive introduction to Blacksmithing. It has a maximum of four students only. At the end of the weekend you will have a set of tools to use in future blacksmithing projects

Saturday will include

• introduction to metallurgy
• using a coke forge
• shaping steel, drawing, upsetting, punching, bending, twisting
• tool making
  • punch
  • drift
  • chisel
  • rivet header
  • tongs

Sunday will be working on projects. Please call to discuss projects before the course. They may include -

• hammer or axe
• advanced tongs and other tools
• kitchen, building hardware

• Cost - $700 (incl GST)
  
• Cost includes: Tuition, insurance, materials, use of tools, workshop consumables, safety gear, morning and afternoon tea, photo disk.
• Need to bring: Lunch, appropriate clothing and covered footwear
• Booking in advance is essential - very limited places
