The very talented Adam Fromholtz has been hard at work perfecting a range of Gentleman’s folding knives.
Adam has created compact slipjoint folding knives with a focus on an extreme level of fit and finish. They incorporate premium materials, such as tropical hardwoods and antler, and sit comfortably in your pocket.
Last year we were very lucky to host Quentin, a bladesmith from Thiers in France, who taught us quite a lot about classic Le Thiers style folding knives. Thanks to his generosity we've been able to refine our own designs which have a distinct Australian influence.
Adam’s process in developing these knives can be summarised as follows:
- Initial hand-drawn concept
- Laser cut acrylic proof of concept
- Jig mounted profiles to determine spring preload
- Liner-only prototype
- Refinement of design and creation of templates
- First batch of production knives
